Dear Leonard, finally, the ATS2 2013 is an existing product published and distributed by bvdm. As Olaf said (and I agree): Nothing is wrong with the files and output settings. That’s why all existing files will remain untouched. The announced update is only dedicated to the new printing conditions. The related PDF/X-4 test form files will be generated with the 2013 settings. And that message is the one maintained by Adobe verbally and in our software implementation and which we also instruct our OEM vendors (though they are free to customize their implementations as they see fit). At a minimum, (and as we have discussed for 3 years now), ECI should change their documentation and message to reflect that other outputs from the current suite are acceptable as per PDF/X-4 and PDF 1.6. When that happens, I will be glad to publicly change my position.
