I am currently trying to initiate a project to ensure all of our KBA
sheetfed presses are printing to ISO standard. Is it
possible to tell me
where I can get information on this.
I have downloaded an ICC profile for matt coated stock and installed it
on an Agfa Grand Sherpa with promising results.
However what specification must I ensure is adhered to on the presses to
print to this profile.
I.E What is the allowed dot gain on press for CMYK. If it is not correct
do you suggest to correct this on the rip to meet the ISO standards.
As far as I understand what the ISO standard will ensure is that
everything is standard, such as dot gain and such like. That will tell a
designer how different his work will print
Is it then feasable that if scans are supplied linear that the correction
is done on the rip bearing in mind that they have already been viewed
using an icc profile that is geared for my presses.
As you can see I am very keen to adopt the ISO standard but need to be
very clear how I achieve this
Kind Regards
Mark
