Well, one of my customers, it's going to print a test job with some images
like the Altona test suit ones, some special color patches, an ECI 2002
color chart, but his question is: Witch are the standard densities to print
with UVI inks on polypropylene and PVC medias?, is there any ISO applicable
to the packaging sector?.
Best regards.

Hi,
Someone recommended me to have a look at the eciRGB color profile. Since
I'm new to using color profiles I'm getting a bit confused. I hope you
can help me out.
I see the advantages of using the eciRGB color profile and I would like
to do so as much is possible but what about the monitor color profiles
that can be used in Windows?
Is it recommended to use the eciRGB color profile for this purpose as
well? Or is this something completely different?
Microsoft states that a color profile provided by the manufactures of
the monitor should be used since it's monitor specific. Though most
manufactures don't provide a color profile for a specific monitor at
all. Am I wrong?
From what I've been told is that sRGB isn't realy recommended to be
used, so what about changing color profiles used in images? E.g. a lot
of images use the sRGB color profile and some use the AdobeRGB profile,
is it recommended to alter the color profile of images to eciRGB or
would this only degrade the quality of the image?
I hope you can clarify things a bit for me.
Thanks in advance,
Age Bosma
Hi, in order to get full colormanagement, I am desparately looking for an ICC Profile for the HP 8550 Colorlaserprinter. HP says, they cannot provide a profile. Any help is warmly appreciated, even if "only" for the next step forward.

Hi Age,
Perhaps you have heard me telling about ECI-RGB during Adobe Events like
the Digital Tour in Holland. There are special events about
colormanagement organized, the next one will be at Januari, 25th in
Zwolle. See the dutch Adobe-site. Or buy my book about colormanagement
;-)
With kind regards,
Johan Kerver

Hi All
Can someone please clarify the following:
The ISO 12647- 2 Second Edition - 2004 Specification has target TVI curves
for a range of paper types and screen frequencies, it does not however have
the useful table of the ISO 12647 - 2 First Edition 1996 which showed TVI at
a number of intermediate steps.
I notice the original (1996) curve shapes have been slightly revised for the
latest edition and the table has been removed.
I don't know for sure but there seems to be a remarkable similarity between
the TVI tables ( 5% increments) published in the Altona Test Suite
documentation and the ISO 12647 - 2 2004 Specification. My guess is that
the Altona test run data has formed a large part of the input for the ISO
12647-2 2004 TVI Specification.
If so perhaps someone in the know could confirm - so that we have a route to
the intermediate target TVI numbers.
