Hi Mark
I suggest the following steps
Get yourself a copy of the ISO 12647-2 (keep in mind that an updated
version will be available after the summer)
Also get yourself the Altona reference application package that Mr.
Meinecke mentioned
1) Check that you ink supplied is in conformance with ISO 2864-1
2) Find your the densities where the color ink solids are the closesed
to the aim values found in the ISO using a spectral photometer
3) print a color wedge and measure the dotgains - the plates should be
imaged linear at this point. Compare to the aim values and make
necessary adjustments. The manual of the altona application package
gibes you more information on this
For this step I find the tool "MetaPrintCheck" very usefull.
(
www.metaprintcheck.de). Unfortunately the homepage is in german. But
if you are interested an english version might get generated.
A more sophisticated tool will be (is) available from Heidelberg:
PrintOpen 5 with Quality Monitor.

I am currently trying to initiate a project to ensure
all of our KBA
sheetfed presses are printing to ISO standard. Is
it possible to tell
me
where I can get information on this.
I have downloaded an ICC profile for matt coated stock and installed
it
on an Agfa Grand Sherpa with promising results.
However what specification must I ensure is adhered to on the presses
to
print to this profile.
I.E What is the allowed dot gain on press for CMYK. If it is not
correct
do you suggest to correct this on the rip to meet
the ISO standards.
As far as I understand what the ISO standard will ensure is that
everything is standard, such as dot gain and such like. That will
tell a
designer how different his work will print
Is it then feasable that if scans are supplied linear that the
correction
is done on the rip bearing in mind that they have
already been viewed
using an icc profile that is geared for my presses.
As you can see I am very keen to adopt the ISO standard but need to be
very clear how I achieve this
Kind Regards
Mark
