Dear all
Does anyone know a solution where you could read control strip with
Eye-one strip mode directly to Excel? KeyWizard does not seem to work in
Strip Mode

Hi,
Has anyone ever managed to print a smaller gamut on un-coated
stock then what the ISO uncoated (Fogra 29 dataset) describe?
Please let me know.
In other words. It is quite simple to print better, with same dH in
primaries
so it is therefore not a very good standard for paper classification
4, since
we can print better.
Not that I have an alternative. Have to go custom...
In Sweden they will base the 2008 years "Best Print" (ISO)
competition on
this ISO uncoated (Fogra 29 dataset). Interesting...
The rumour is that this particular standard is going to the trash soon.

Hi all
Is there any work being done towards a new uncoated profile that reflects
the very white uncoated papers now being requested and used by clients and
printers.
Also a new profile needs the reduce the TAC from the current 315% which is
far too high to around 270%, as the Basicolor profiles produced from this
dataset.
The papers colour of the this profile when used for proofing can give an
wrong colour appearance for the client if these very 'blue' white papers are
then used on press.
Pastel tints and image quarter tones reflect the yellowness of the paper on
the proof, but this is not matched on press. Also the 5De of solid cyan max
is impossible to meet on these papers.
Pragmatically this can be overcome by editing the proofing profile, but that
results in the proof failing a 'Proof Control' check, but can result is an
acceptable match from proof to press.
This issue also applies to the SC profile were many SC papers are much
whiter then the paper colour used but the profile.

Hi,
I've tried using X-rite Color Port and Profile Maker 5.x with the X-
rite Eye One.
Both color port and measure tool of profile maker 5 can measure in
strip mode. and it is saved in a text file(.txt) where you can open
directly with microsoft excel. if the data are all grouped together,
just run the 'text to column' function to extract the data you need.
Sincerely,
