Well, one of my customers, it's going to print a test job with some images
like the Altona test suit ones, some special color patches, an ECI 2002
color chart, but his question is: Witch are the standard densities to print
with UVI inks on polypropylene and PVC medias?, is there any ISO applicable
to the packaging sector?.
Best regards.

Hey list,
I was wondering...
There are a lot of endusers out there who are using the GretagMacbeth
EyeOne with UV-Cut filter to do profiling and/or linearization for
their digital proofing systems.
Others are using EyeOnes (or different devices) without UV filters.
Is there any official statement on the use of UV filters when
performing a 'proof certification' (measuring FOGRA MedienKeil)?
Thanks in advance,
Erik

5th Digital Proof Forum (bvdm/ECI) September 20 and 21, 2005, Stuttgart -
International event with new topics
In cooperation with Stuttgart Media University of Applied Sciences,
Stuttgart (D), and the University of Wuppertal, Wuppertal (D) the German
Printing and Media Industries Federation (bvdm) and the European Color
Initiative (ECI) are organizing the fifth Digital Proof Forum on September
20 and 21, 2005 with new and extended topics.
bvdm and ECI are expecting at this - also international - leading event
again a great number of visitors. Industry experts from different european
countries will attend as speakers and visitors. Well known manufacturers,
highly motivated experts and speakers will contribute to challenging tests
of systems and an interesting congress. Conference language is german and
english.
Topics are e.g. new applications from bvdm and ECI for the user such as
Altona Test Suite Application Kit (Update 2005) and the ECI/bvdm
GrayConStrip for the visual control of greybalance during print production.
The international standardisation of printing processes, latest developments
of softproof solutions or criteria for evaluation and certification of
proofing systems are further topics.
For the first time, a softproof presentation allows the visitors to compare
monitor images with proofs or prints. The successful workshop
"Altona-Test-Suite-Anwendungspaket und ugra/FOGRA Medienkeil CMYK im
Praxiseinsatz" is held again (in german language only). For the second time,
a test of colour measuring devices is organized in a modified way. In
addition to this test the visitors have the opportunity to bring in their
own colour measuring equipment for a check and comparison with reference
values.
Moderators of the fifth Digital Proof Forum are Prof. Ronald Schaul,
Stuttgart Media University of Applied Sciences, Stuttgart (D) and Prof. Dr.
Stefan Brües, University of Wuppertal, Wuppertal (D).
