I have been researching methods of assessing colour accuracy of printer
suppliers we use and would like some knowledgeable and impartial advice
(i.e. Not from a salesman!) and I hope you can help me with a couple of
questions.
I have requested running sheets for some recent print jobs and aim to sample
the colour bars in order to build a test of how closely the FOGRA27 has
been matched, or not. Then I want to obtain a report that I can use both
internally to Production Managers to make them aware of colour matching
issues and also send to the printer involved to make them aware that they
have been tested and the results found.
Here are my questions:
* What measuring device would you recommend I use? (make and model if
possible)
* What software would you recommend for recording results and creating
reports? (make and version if possible)
* Ideally we will require some standardised colour bars to be added to
running sheets. However, what method would you suggest for sampling
non-standard colour bars that are currently applied by our printers?
Thanks
