Hi Dennis,
I would create an ICC profile for your printing process and the convert
from whatever CMYK you get from your customers (hopefully with a
profile attached) to your CMY process. This eliminates another
conversion back to RGB and thus results in a much higher quality. Every
conversion generates losses in your image files.
