Dear members of the DPWG and ECI-members,
Although "D" stands for Digital I would like to share with you the recently
published test profile "Metal-Printing_MPC1_FOGRA60".
You can find the characterization data and the ICC profile here:
https://fogra.org/en/downloads/work-tools/characterisation-data
Thankfully, Florian Süßl (ECI) provided the ICC profile in the known manner, so you can
share your feedback (naming, separation, gamut mapping etc.) here or directly at the ECI
mailing list.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Andreas Kraushaar
PS: I also added my notes from the recent ISO meeting below to give you some more
background. We managed to sort out the issues (the aim values of yellow have been refined
in the last minute).

Betreff: ISO News
Dear DPWG members,
This year TC130 meetings will be held all digital/online. The WG3 meetings have been
spread across four meetings with individual topics. So you can expect the ISO news over
the coming weeks (next meeting will be held on Nov 10th focusing on ISO 12647-2).
Yesterday we focussed on ISO 12647-9 (Metal decoration offset printing). The document was
approved as DIS and the comments were resolved. Since there were also technical comments
the document will be balloted for FDIS before we can expect final publication early next
year. Based on the available aims (CIELAB and TVI) and related printing samples (e.g.
thankfully provided by Pirlo and modelled by GMG) we have tried to create characterization
data. In that process we found some issues in the actual aims so we proposed to change
some of the colour aims (and were not able to provide characterisation data and ICC
profiles). Another challenge is the very dark aim CIEL (lightness) of the black primary
being CIEL*=5 (for MPC2) and CIEL*=8 (MPC3/4) respectively. In the meeting minor changes
of the aim values were agreed and we plan to provide characterization data for MPC1
("White coated metal with the CIELAB aims being CIELAB=84+-4, -2 +-2, -6 +-2),
potentially becoming FOGRA60.
If you are interested in further tests just let us know
Regards
Andreas Kraushaar
