Hello Miguel,
In Europe, some newspaper printers have made special CtP curves that
stochastic screening is leading to a comparable result as conventional
AM screening.
Without such special CtP-curves, the result will quite different to AM
Screening / ISOnewspaper26.
The next steps are depending, i, you are customer, deliviring data to
the newspaper, or if You are part of the prepress team of the newspaper.
If you are a customer, just ask the newspaper, if they can work with
ISOnewspaper26 data.
If you are in the prepress department of the newspaper, talk with the
most important customers, if they want to to send ISOnewspaper26 data or
if they prefer an individual profile made from individual testruns on
the press.
In most cases it is much better for the whole workflow to agree on
freely availabe and well known standard profiles. ISOnewspaper26 is
preconfigured in more or less all proofing solutions for the newspaper
market and all the important CtP system providers have made experiences
to adjust CtP-curves that the press matches an proof based on ISOnewspaper26
ISOnewspaper26 has been approved in practice since several years both on
the side of the customers and the printers.
For G7, there is no standard-profile for newspaper available. If it will
be available in future, we will have to see how good it works in practice.
Regards
Jan-Peter

Hello all
I need some advice from the list's members, if you're pleased.
I work with a newspaper that is going to be printed on a web press, using
CTP with stochastic screening.
My question is: is the ISOnewspaper26v4 ICC profile adequate for stochastic
screens? If not, what would be the recommended profile?
Thank you very much.
Miguel Medalha
