I'm a little confused about the use of the new profiles "ISO coated v2
(ECI)" and "ISO coated v2 300% (ECI)".
ECI states on there website:
"For two standard offset printing conditions new profiles are available. ECI, bvdm
and FOGRA jointly recommend the use of "ISO Coated v2 (ECI)" and "ISO
Coated v2 300% (ECI)". The latter is a version with lower maximum ink coverage (300%)
suitable for e.g. heat set web offset."
As I interpret your text, the profile "ISO Coated v2 (ECI)" is for Sheet-fed
offset and the profile "ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)" is suitable for heat-set web
offset.
Now. on Ugra's website I have found this text:
"The new profile ISOcoated_V2_300.icc is used for the separation of data. If there
should occur problems with insufficient blacks, the profile ISOcoated_V2.icc with a total
area coverage of 330% should be used. swiss4color recommends however, to use the profile
with the total area coverage of 300%.".
Should I use "ISO Coated v2 (ECI)" for Sheet-fed offset and "ISO Coated v2
300% (ECI)" for heat-set web offset? Or is it like Ugra wrote on there website,
always "ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)" for Sheet-fed offset, and only if I should
experience problems with insufficient black, then to use the profile "ISOcoated V2
(ECI)".
Yours sincerely
