Hi all,
IMHO we should differentiate two scenarios:
a) the conventional setup where all these separation issues would be
noticed (at the latest) at the proof level or even in the design stage
(early and intermediate binding workflows). Among all notes and
corrections this would be "fixed" there.
b) if you work on a well calibration working desk and you create your
"intended colorimetry" (your look) on your screen/display than you
kinda expect a 1:1 communication of the appearance until the final
production run.
beside some well agree upon technical criteria (there is currently a
ICC white paper from the profile assessment working group under way)
we shouldn't be to pushy in judging profile out of context.

Paul,
Could we possibly share some test images? I'm thinking of the
roman16 'blue'
image among others. I could send you a lo-res RGB image (in eciRGB)
and
you'd convert it using basICcolor v2 coated profiles and I'll
convert mine
using PrintOpen ISOCoatedv2. Then you can send me your converted
images and
I'll post them on my web site for anyone to review. I'm really
interested in
pursuing this issue.
Hi again Roger
We tested the Basicolor v2 coated profile against the ECI version
on a
number of Adobe RGB images were the blue to purple issue had been
commented
upon by the design team.
We reviewed the images, separated from Adobe RGB to both profiles and
proofed on an GMG driven Epson.
The Basicolor profile improved the blues in question and some reds.
