Would you mind explaining a bit more? When you mention profile to
profile, do you mean RGB or does that also include scanner RGB profile
to CMYK print profile? Also, when scanning using profile conversions,
do you mean that the operator not allowed to "fiddle around". My
experience has been that the best combination is scanning software that
is ICC compatible (like Linocolor) which increases quality and
efficiency as you mention, but at the same time allows the scanner
operator to make to necessary corrections and adjustments during
scanning, whether in RGB, CMYK or L*a*b*. Thanks.
