I agree with Alex. Certain applications, like GMG, do skip the patches that
does not have any black in the CMYK composition, but the patches are skipped
in "software" only, meaning that the application does measure every patch
but, in the software, one the patches are measured, they are ignored or
dropped from the measurements. The best approach is to measure all patches
and then eliminate the patches you do not need either in Excel or by writing
a small program of your own that open the measurement file and only extract
the patch that you need. Feasible but a lot of work.

Subject: Re: [ECI-EN] Measuring test chart using profilemaker measure tool
and i1io
Hello Anand!
I am trying to find out whether there is a way to
tell the measure
tool and i1io to skip certain patches and measure only the necessary
patches. Is there any way, I can put some command in the reference
file and say measure only these paches and skip these patches.
As I know, there is no way to measure certain patches and to skip another
patches in strip mode.
I think, there are two solutions for your problem:
1. Take the whole chart readings in iO patch mode, then waste unnecessary
patches.
2. Take measurements by i1 in patch mode.
Best regards,
