Jyrki,

For both profiles the same characterization data is used (FOGRA27). The difference is in how the actual icc-profile is created.
You can look into a profile using ColorSync-Utility on MacOSX, or compare the two profiles on http://iccview.de/
You will see there is not a big difference. Both have the same whitepoint and the overal shape of the gamut is almost identical.
A comparison of the profiles’ colorimetric intent to FOGRA27 you can see here http://digitalproof.info/profcheck/profcheck5ir1b1.html#

Subject: [ECI-EN] Difference between profiles

Hello list

Can you tell, what is difference between ISOcoated.icc (www.eci.org <http://www.eci.org> ) and Europe ISO Coated FOGRA27 profiles, which came with Adobe Photoshop CS2? It is said in ECI Offset 2004 document "ISOcoated.icc: Paper type 1 and 2, gloss- and matte-coated, 150 lpi (60/cm), FOGRA27L".

Best Regards
