We made testprints with pressprofile targets with linear plates and the DG was about 18%@40. Then we make the pressprofile and in the processed PDFs the DG is 14% and with right colors. We will not get that close to Fogra39 if we only use curves in the CTP. Greybalance etc is tack on. (The press-profile compensates for the characteristics of our presses/ink/etc.) You cant achive that with curves?

Maybe your ink/press/etc is more "ISO-like" then ours?

Our workflow:

Dokument (RGB, CMYK, Lab) -> Fogra39 (ISOcoated v2) -> Proof  
(Fogra39) -> Pressprofile -> CTP -> Press = Match!

Using Binuscan PDF Server to colormanage our PDF's.

Is people really trying to print ISO with linear plates from  
ISOcoated v2 or similar? Good for them if its working though..

I'm not blaming anyone for anything :-) Just telling Juris what the

limits

are to be within the standard. I'm a consultant, so there are no "my

colors". However, running against the

ISO-standard is not just a matter of

Delta E for the primary colors. I have

seen instances where close matches of

delta E values for primary colors will

result TVI out of range while you could

get the TVI in range with higher

Delta E deviations for the

primaries.
