Hi Joey,

Any software must be connected to a spectrophotometer in order to measure your press sheets. It will need to read the both the solid primaries and the dot gain. The tone curve that you put into your platesetter has to take into account the amount of ink that you are laying down i.e the more ink the higher the dot gain. You therefore have to establish the correct density of the Lab value for the ISO standard you are aiming for with the ink, paper and press you are using.

pressSIGN does all these for you. You can download a demo copy from www.bodoni.co.uk/presssign.php but you will need a GretagMacbeth Eye-One (not a UV version) to be able to use it.

Subject: [ECI-EN] ISO Software

Sirs,
i have been receiving proposals for services for ISO certification including software-driven programs... is it possible to get ISO compliance by buying software devices that can adjust or convert printing plates to ISO profile? And if i am printing an ISO plates and papers and inks, will that make me an ISO printer already? thanks
